Think on These Things
BibleReading: Philippians 2:8 "He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross." (ESV)
Think on These ThingsThat Are Honorable
The Devotional: To be “honorable” is to be like Jesus. He didn’t cling to His divine privileges but chose the path of a servant. We see honor in action when a mountain climber sacrifices reaching the summit to save a life, or when we choose to build others up instead of tearing them down. Humility isn’t thinking less of ourselves; it’s thinking of ourselves less.
Reflection & Conversation: Gather the family and share stories of how Jesus honored others. Then, brainstorm ways to show honor at home:
Obeying with a respectful attitude (imitating Jesus’ obedience to the Father).
Building others up by mentioning something you appreciate about them.
Allowing another family member to have the last pancake! 😊
Have children think up their own ideas to encourage imagination, intuition, and personal growth.
“Submit yourselves therefore, to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.”
